Kalam Atomic Science Club

A new science club named ‘Kalam Atomic Science Club’ was inaugurated on 20.7.2017 .Mr.Kiran Kumar, the chief guest and Bro.Kennedy lighted the traditional lamp. Mr.S.Arasu, a senior science teacher, in his speech, highlighted the different dimensions of science and its indispensability in the modern high tech world. A dance depicting the various scientific achievements was put up by the students of the middle school.

As part of the ongoing go-green campaign our students planted saplings on the school campus. The chief guest, Mr.Kiran Kumar, a professor from Loyola College, in his address ,elucidated the scintillating facets of science .The program ended with the national anthem.

Sports Day

The 142nd Annual Sports Meet of the school was conducted on 2nd July 2017.The dignitaries that included the chief guest Captain Gerald (Add.Director,Headquaters of the Eastern Naval Command,Vizag),Patrician Brothers,and other honoured guests were escorted to the dais by our vibrant school band and the head boy and the head girl on horseback .The program began with the soulful rendition of a prayer song by the school choir.It was followed by the welcome address by Rev.Bro.Kennedy,Sports Secretary.The well choreographed inaugural dance and other colorful dances by our students won accolades from the spectators .The exciting class games of the primary section were cheered by all.Vying for top honours ,the contestants from all the four houses put up spirited performances in the sprint events.At the end of the day,the Gaffney House won the Overall Championship Shield for Boys,while the Overall Championship shield for Girls was won by the Gaynor House .The impressive march past by the students was well appreciated .The Carrol House boys and girls made a clean sweep of the march past shields .The cheering shield was won by the school band.

Independence Day

Our school celebrated India’s 71st Independence Day in advance on 13th August,17.The day aroused a patriotic feel among the audience.Through a short skit,the junuiors of our school helped each of us recall and remember in gratitude the hard struggle and sacrifices of our great freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi , Velunachiammal,Bhagat Singh and Rani of Jhansi.To add colour to the program, a patriotic dance was put up by the senior students.The mime show staged by the seniors of our school highlighted the importance of unity in diversity .To conclude,the speech of Rev.bro.Edison once again reminded everyone the greatness of our mother land India ,and left us asking ourselves a thought-provoking question ,

“Ask not what the country has done for you,
But what ‘you’ have done for your country.”

The day helped us remember we are Indians above all religions and linguistic differences .The celebration ended with the national anthem.

The Shakespearean Society

As part of the activities of the English Department of St.Patrick’s, a literary club titled ‘The Shakespearean Society’ was inaugurated on 7th july,2017.Mr.Chandru's inspirational speech replete with anecdotes had a great impact on the students and the staff. The program ended with the school song. The official logo of Patrifest,2017,was unveiled during the program.An English debate competition in which the contestants from all the four houses participated enthusiastically ,was the highlight Mr. Chandru's inspirational speech replete with anecdotes had a great impact on the students and the staff. Social Science Club

The Social Science club of the School named as ‘The Sangam club’ was inaugurated on 20th July,2017.The program started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest Mr.Kiran Kumar ,(Assistant professor from Loyola college,Chennai ) and our Patrician Brothers .A few students from the middle school donning the attires of some historical heroes of the country,spoke about their bravery and sacrifices.The chief guest in his address highlighted the importance of learning in one’s life.The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.Neelufar.
